Opened in 2021, the MTN1 fulfillment center is the largest Amazon warehouse in Delaware. It houses around 3,000 employees and keeps hiring more each year. The 5-storied facility covers a massive 3.8 million square feet area. 

For better management and employee safety, the warehouse has thousands of robotics pods, automated machines, and sensors. The devices carry, store, and locate the packages.

In the first month of appointment, workers earn $15 per hour. However, most of them enjoy an average hourly rate of $18 with the shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours.

As for the work environment, most employees have given a positive review of the high pay rate and cleanliness. Some drivers and warehouse associates complained about the mismanagement as well.

Overall, for such a huge facility, the ratings from the workers are pretty high. From the city downtown, you can reach the warehouse in 15 minutes.

2. Amazon Sortation Center, New Castle County – MTN1 A/R Sortation

An extension of the fulfillment center, this facility is the only Amazon sortation center in Delaware. After the products are processed in the fulfillment center, trucks and vans carry them to the MTN1 sortation facility. 

Here, the packages are sorted according to their delivery addresses and shipped to their destinations. Compared to the fulfillment center, the sortation facility is way smaller, covering only a few thousand square feet. 

While the number of employees and vacancy announcements are low, an average hourly pay rate of $18 is pretty high. Besides, the friendly environment and organized teams keep the workers satisfied. The sortation center is only a 4-minute driving distance from the fulfillment center.

3. Amazon Fulfilment Center, New Castle County – PHL7

Address: 560 Merrimac Ave, Middletown, DE 19709, United States 

One of the oldest Amazon facilities in Delaware, the PHL7 fulfillment center is located in Middletown. The 1-million-square-foot building has more than 1,500 full- and part-time workers. The warehouse has both automated machines and advanced robotics for heavy lifting tasks and surveillance.

What’s most appealing to job seekers is the high pay rate of this warehouse. As a new facility, it’s offering a very handsome range, averaging $18.95 per hour. 

However, the reviews from the warehouse associates and truck drivers aren’t great. Many complained about the lack of safety and stressful environment.

Mismanagement in the loading and unloading section is also a major issue. If you decide to visit the PHL7 fulfillment center, it will be a 15-minute from downtown.

4. Amazon Fulfilment Center, New Castle County – ILG1

Continuing its expansion, Amazon opened the ILG1 fulfillment center in New Castle in 2021. The warehouse covers a huge 1.3 million square feet area with more than 1,000 full-time employees. 

The area features large loading docks and more than a thousand parking spaces for passenger vehicles, trucks, and vans. As it’s a non-sort warehouse, the workers have to deal with bulky items like patios, household furniture, rugs, etc. This is probably why it has some terrible reviews from the workers.

Not everyone is happy with the fast-paced environment and strict management. Netizens also complain about the traffic as the warehouse is located close to the federal school lane. 

5. Amazon Delivery Station, Sussex County – WDE1

Address: 1700 Dulaney St, Seaford, DE 19973, United States

With WDE1, Amazon started its journey in Sussex County in 2021. The warehouse is the only delivery station in Delaware. Amazon leased half of a 208,000-square-foot property and created more than 500 new jobs in the area. 

The purpose of the WDE1 warehouse is to complete last-mile deliveries as fast as possible. While employees process the products, the appointed Amazon drivers drop them at your doorsteps. 

Unfortunately, many sellers and their customers aren’t satisfied with the deliveries from the warehouse. Late delivery and wrong address are two of the main concerns. Yet, the permanent employees and drivers working in the warehouse make $18 to $21 per hour.
