1. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Franklin County- CMH7

Amazon started construction on this facility in early 2022. The company spent approximately two hundred fifty million dollars to build this 1,000,000-square-foot warehouse near the New Albany Meta Data Center on Beech Road.

As you can see in the picture above, Amazon also built a truck guard shack near the CMH7 fulfillment center. Here, security officers check the identification of drivers entering the facility. 

Additionally, packages are checked to ensure nothing illegal or harmful is inside the packages entering and leaving the facility. There are approximately a thousand employees working in this Amazon warehouse. 

Some of the employees work as delivery personnel, security guards, HR managers, forklift operators, and warehouse associates. The starting salary for these employees is $15.75 per hour.

Employees who work here praise the management for offering them break time between shifts. They also enjoy working in this facility because of the open space and friendly environment. 

However, a problem was recently highlighted by an employee. She noticed that many chemical products are stored in this warehouse. This, in turn, has caused breathing issues for some employees who feel they are inhaling toxic air while working here.

Furthermore, Amazon Flex drivers have complained about the cleanliness of the parking space. They are dissatisfied with the long waiting time to unload their vehicles in an untidy area. 

2. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Montgomery County- LUK2

The company built this warehouse in the southwestern side of Ohio. This fulfillment center is spread across more than two million square feet near the Dayton International Airport. It is only 3.2 miles away from the airport and 8 miles away from the nearest bus station.

You can also travel to this warehouse by car. If you are traveling from the capital of Ohio, you should take the I-70 W route to reach this facility within an hour.

Amazon has filled this warehouse with highly robotic machinery, large shelves, spacious elevators, glass ceilings, and AI-operated tools. The purpose of building this facility is to receive orders from customers near Dayton and provide them with same-day delivery services. 

Here, the employees mainly work with gift items or items that weigh less than twenty pounds. Amazon offered jobs to two thousand local job seekers at this facility. The employees here receive a remuneration of nineteen dollars per hour. Additionally, they receive the following benefits:

  • Holiday bonuses and insurance facilities

People here seem to enjoy the large yard and parking spaces. Employees have also commented that the advanced machinery increases their productivity and makes their tasks easier to accomplish.

3. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Butler County-CMH3

In 2018, Amazon opened this warehouse in the southeastern part of Ohio in Monroe City. This 1.3 million square feet fulfillment center is just a 13-minute walking distance from the Walmart fulfillment center built in the same area.

There are several other warehouses and distribution centers located in the same neighborhood. In this facility, more than one thousand workers work full-time. They check and receive various kinds of commodities from suppliers across the world. 

Then, they store these items based on size, category, and expiry dates. Once a customer places an order for a specific item, the warehouse associates pack the item in neat packages before shipping it to the customer’s address. They get paid $18 per hour for performing these tasks properly.

Employees who worked in this warehouse in the initial days of its launch were unsatisfied with the inefficient and rigid management system. They often complained about mistreatment and work pressure.

Recently, the workers here have given great reviews about this place. They are satisfied with the behavior of the HR team. Plus, the employees enjoy working in this large and clean warehouse. However, the delivery men aren’t satisfied with the long time it takes to unload their trucks.

4. Amazon Delivery Station, Butler County- DWO1

In 2021, Amazon officially started operating in this warehouse and used this 145,000-square-foot delivery station to deliver the parcels of customers who live in the Cincinnati region. 

This place is just two miles away from West Chester Township and is located beside Allen Road and Cincinnati Dayton Road. Amazon mainly developed this delivery station in this area to use the nearby highways to offer last-mile delivery services to their customers. 

Moreover, they wanted to hire unemployed people in the community to work at this place. The workers here are primarily responsible for inspecting, labeling, and loading trucks with parcels that need to be delivered within 24 hours. 

Amazon has hired at least one thousand workers to work in different positions in this facility. The workers are paid eighteen dollars to work 60 minutes in this delivery station. Full-time workers also receive holiday bonuses and insurance facilities.

Post-pandemic, Amazon hired many local people to work in this warehouse. This way, the company helped many locals to earn a living after they lost their previous jobs. Employees who work in this facility reported that they love to work at this spacious warehouse. 

Additionally, they are happy that their supervisors listen to their issues and give them proper instructions. However, some people in the area have complained about the driving skills of Amazon’s delivery personnel. 

Many have mentioned that drivers often drive haphazardly and fail to signal other drivers while changing lanes.

5. Amazon Distribution Center, Woody County

Amazon invested fifty million dollars to build this distribution center over a 1.6-acre plot in Perrysburg Township. This facility is just a few minutes’ walking distance from the Rossford bus stop. It is also five minutes away from the nearby Target and Home Depot stores.

Currently, approximately five hundred workers are officially working in this facility. Amazon pays them $16 to $18 for every hour they spend working here. The community feels great that Amazon has been expanding its activities in the northwestern areas of Ohio.

To help the community and gain the permit to build their warehouse in Rossford, Amazon promised to pay $641,600 per year in donations to the schools in Rossford. 

Not only that, Amazon also contributed $46,000 for the development of the Penta Career Center. This center is just 4 miles away from this distribution center. Employees who work here are happy with the clean and safe working conditions. 

Additionally, the training opportunities and incentives they receive help them grow personally. Customers have said that the workers here are punctual and deliver their packages on time.

Overall, Amazon has started investing in and expanding its business in some of the prime locations of Ohio. As of now, they have built Amazon Lockers, sixteen fulfillment centers, and seventeen delivery stations in this state.
